Day 18: Your views on gay marriage.
I'm sorry people are not going to like me for this one - but I'm against it. It is not because I'm a biggot or hate homosexuals. I have several good friends who are homosexual. I have no problem with gay couples being granted equal rights under the law. I just have a problem with it being considered a marriage legally. Because it is physically impossible for two people of the same sex to be truly married. It is in fact a very academic way of thinking. And, although the readings and arguments I have read that I agree with are written by Christians they are written by highly intelligent Christians arguing against atheists using PURE REASON. Not just "because God said so" And for the record - i have read the counter arguments as well. I could not even begin to describe in a coherent manner but I am willing to let you know what I read if you are highly opposed to what I say. I also want to say that I also am highly against people - ESP. Christians who judge, torment, and persecute homosexuals. That is just as bad if not WORSE then the "sin" of homosexuality (quotes because even the Church has recognized that it is something that you are born with) My sole objection is the mere physical impossibility and not because I do no like them. Sorry I know I did not explain my reasons very well - because it's a very academic thesis and I have a hard time explaining it coherently.
